Q1: How can I determine if any errors occurred while processing files using FolderBots?
Any exceptions that are generated by FolderBots will be logged in the “Application” log in the Windows Event Viewer. The entries will be written by “FolderBotsSvc”.

If a more verbose log file is needed this can be accomplished by having the service log write to a text file. The steps to do this are detailed below:

1) Locate the FolderBots Service in the services.msc area under the Control Panel.

2) Provide a path to a log file which the service can write to. For example, on Windows Vista a good path would be “C:\\Users\\Public\\folderbotslog.txt”. Please be sure to include the double slashes as they must be escaped. This verbose log will include an entry for every image write (this includes one for each page in a multipage document) and a description of what went wrong for an “error” image. For example, the error will be like “ImagXException: an error occurred in this image”.

3) Please send the log and image file in question to support@jpg.com and we can take a look at it.

Q2: Why do I need .NET 3.5?
FolderBots uses advanced .NET 3.5 technologies in order to operate properly. If necessary, .NET 3.5 is installed by the FolderBots installer and then FolderBots will install and function properly. Some systems will be required to reboot after the .NET 3.5 install and prior to installing FolderBots.
